ATOM Grammar Tool: Grammar Reporter

NEW! The Grammar Reporter is the new feature added to the ATOM Grammar Tool v2.0 released on September 2.

The ATOM Grammar Tool can automatically generate performance reports by evaluating grammars against test sets. The reports allow a developer to quickly identify problems with grammars.

The performance reports contain word error rate and concept error rate. For each sentence, the developer can display the alignment between the correct transcription and the recognition result generated by the speech recognizer. The alignment contains the insertions, deletions and substitutions which helps a developer to correct mistakes in the grammar. For more information on these concepts, see Wikipedia.

The screen shot above shows the report display of the ATOM Grammar Tool. The upper part lists the words which are involved in misrecognitions. Once you click on a word, all sentences in the test set in which this word appears are displayed in the middle part.

The sentence display contains the correct transcription and the hypothesis generated by the speech recognizer. Selecting a sentence causes the display of the parse trees both for the transcription and the hypothesis in the lower part left and middle. The alignment between transcription and hypothesis is displayed in the lower right part.

The alignment shows the deletions, insertions, substitions and matches between words in the transcription and hypothesis, indicated by the letters D,I,S and M, respectively, in the first column.
