Agilingua, LLC. Press Release

NEW ATOM Spoken Dialogue SDK Now Available for Multi-Language Application Development

(Agilingua, LLC., NY, April 1, 2008) - Agilingua, LLC announces the release of the ATOM Spoken Dialogue SDK 2.0, the new version of the complete software development kit for interactive natural language spoken dialogue interfaces.

The Version 2.0 provides support for developing multilingual spoken applications. Version 2.0 also includes new tools to support Wizard-of-Oz based data collection, transcription as well as usability evaluation, a revised, faster Dialogue Runtime Engine and more sample source code.

ATOM Spoken Dialogue SDK
The ATOM Spoken Dialogue SDK is a comprehensive Software Development Kit especially designed for developing embedded interactive spoken dialogue systems in multiple languages.

The SDK reduces the required development time by 50% to 75% compared to the development without using ATOM due to ATOMfs consistent support of the entire development cycle from data collection to usability testing.* (*During internal tests when using third party editing software to program for integrating with speech recognizer and create application program of 40 hours of workload.)

Interactive Voice Interface Application in Multiple Languages
The ATOM Spoken Dialogue SDK supports reusable, changeable dialogue templates called Chameleon Templates. A template is a partial dialogue manager program that determines how an application interacts with a user.

This patent-pending dialogue manager programming technique now allows the developer to create a common dialogue program that can be reused for different target languages. Up to 60% of program code is eliminated using the Chameleon Template technique, compared to developing a new application for each new language.

Easy Development of Advanced Interactive Interaction

  • Allows a userfs utterance to contain multiple bits of information (over-answering) to shorten the overall dialogue length
  • System can decide dynamically at runtime what and how to ask for more information, thus enabling natural interactions that do not appear scripted.
  • A developer can change the character of the interaction by replacing the templates to address individual needs of the users

ATOM Dialogue SDK Contents
The ATOM Spoken Dialogue SDK contains an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for grammar and dialogue script development, all necessary tools to compile grammars, dialogue scripts and integrate with databases, and the ATOM Dialogue Runtime Engine for Windows XP.

Also, C++ APIs for integration with speech recognizers, TTS engines, databases and third-party applications. The SDK works out of the box with Microsoft SAPI 5 compliant recognizers and TTS engines.

Please inquire for runtime engines for Windows Mobile, Linux and other Operating Systems. For more information about the ATOM Dialogue SDK, please visit http://www.agilingua.com/atom.

Reference SDKs
The ATOM CarNavi SDK and ATOM Robot SDK, complete reference applications containing all the software components, grammars, and databases necessary to implement a multimodal dialogue components for car navigation and robots, are released simultaneously. The Reference SDKs also contain the new ATOM Spoken Dialogue SDK.
